This paper presents a novel method for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) classification using EEG topographic maps and deep learning. We leverage topographic maps — special images that capture the strength of brainwaves across different brain areas — as the input of deep learning models. Our approach shows an improvement in classification performance compared to traditional hand-crafted feature methods.
