New approach for Alzheimer’s disease classification using topographic maps and deep learning model

December 06, 2024

Conference paper presentation, 2024 Asia Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA ASC), Macau, China

Presented a novel approach for Alzheimer’s disease classification using EEG topographic maps as input to deep learning models. The method captures the spatial distribution of brainwave power across different brain regions and shows improved classification performance over traditional hand-crafted feature methods.

Needle localization and segmentation for radiofrequency ablation of liver tumors under CT image guidance

November 10, 2022

Conference paper presentation, 2022 Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA ASC), Chiang Mai, Thailand

Presented our work on automatic needle detection and segmentation in CT images for radiofrequency ablation (RFA) guidance. The proposed method combines YOLOv4 for needle detection in 2D projections with a patch-based 3D CNN for precise segmentation within the constructed volume of interest.

Efficient type and polarity classification of chromosome images using CNNs

July 28, 2022

Conference paper presentation, 2022 IEEE Ninth International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE), Nha Trang, Vietnam

Presented an EfficientNet-based CNN architecture for chromosome type and polarity classification. The method introduces a weighted classification loss function and achieves comparable accuracy with significantly fewer parameters than state-of-the-art methods.
